These Halloween ghost minimal greeting cards are just what you need to celebrate this holiday. I’m not a fan of the scary stuff, so these ghosts will only put a smile on your face. 🙂 Let’s grab our alcohol markers and draw some cute ghosts in three different ways!
Supplies:
- ArtFinity Alcohol Markers
- Paper: Strathmore Bristol paper cut to 4.25″x5.5″
- Pen: Sakura Micron pen, 0.2
- All of my favorite supplies here

Greeting Card #1
For each greeting card, we will first draw the outline with the micron pen. These are waterproof and archival so they won’t bleed when we color with alcohol markers later. This first greeting card will feature an upside down bell shape for the ghost. And then draw big swirly lines at the bottom to connect them. The smaller areas will be the shadow.
I’m using the CG0 Cool Grey 0 color as the base for all of the ghosts. And I’m using the CG3 Cool Grey 3 for the shadow area. This will be consistent for all three cards.
Now let’s draw the cute face! For the kawaii look, you want to set the eyes far apart and place the mouth on the same level as the eyes. I’m also going to draw some arms and a heart on this ghost.
Finally, let’s add the details. I’m going to use the R1-7 Lipstick Red color for the heart. And use the Cool Grey 3 color again to add some depth in the shadows. I also used the R2-1 Balllet Pink color to add rosy cheeks. Then use your pen to write the phrase, “hey, boo-tiful!”
Ta-da! There you have it!
Greeting Card #2
Greeting card #2 will be in the vertical orientation and feature a longer ghost. Start with that bell shape again and then draw squiggly lines for the folds in the ghost. Connect the folds to create the smaller, shadow areas.
Now let’s use those same Cool Grey 0 and Cool Grey 3 colors do fill in our ghost.
At some point, I realized that I should have added one more fold to the ghost on the right side. So that’s why you’ll see four folds on the right and two on the left. Next, use your pen to add vertical lines and then go over it with the Cool Grey 3 color. These will emphasize the folds a bit more.
Now let’s add the face with our pen. And write the phrase, “Creepin’ it real~”
We’re not quite done yet! Let’s add some more shadows and the rosy cheeks. And NOW you’re done!
Greeting Card #3
The final card is going to feature two ghosts. One will be handing a flower and the other will be receiving it. First, start with two rounded shapes that are leaning towards the middle. Then add a wavy line at the bottom to create the smaller, shadow areas.
Use those same Cool Grey 0 and Cool Grey 3 colors do fill in our ghost.
Next, use your pen to draw in the faces, arms, and flower. Since the ghosts are leaning towards each other, you want to place the faces to the side. Since it’s Halloween, I drew a wilter flower.
Now let’s color in the arms with the Cool Grey 3. The stem with the G5-5 Moss Green color. And the flower with the R1-7 Lipstick Red color. Don’t forget the rosy cheeks! And finally, write the phrase, “you’re my boo”.
For any of these cards you can write any lovey-dovey phrase or ghost pun!
